QUBA Commercial Units

Built in 2008, the QUBA complex is situated in the heart of Quay Park in Auckland’s Central Business District, in prime location close to Downtown Britomart and Spark Arena. The 6-level building is comprised of 113 residential apartments, an internal atrium, common areas, 13 commercial units and basement car parking for 196 cars. Our challenge was to ensure efficiency and returns on the tenancies of our smaller commercial units that included mezzanines in their structure.

To ensure we made efficient use of our commercial units with mezzanines, we were able to work with tenants to refurbish and expand the 2 spaces side-by-side into 1, to best suit the spatial requirements of smaller tenants. The new design seamlessly fit with the existing design and the final look would suggest that they were always 1 space, with no restriction to light or feeling of enclosure.
